The Gardenbird website was using an old Magento off-the-shelf theme which wasn’t responsive. In addition the Magento version was quite out of date and needed to be upgrade to the latest version.
A new responsive theme was supplied to eCommerceIT in Photoshop images and these were used to construct a new theme for the website. The core website files were also upgraded to the latest Magento version allowing Redis to be utilised. Fill page caching by Amasty was also integrated to deal with periods of extreme traffic such as Black Friday and Prime Day promotions.
The WordPress website was moved onto a separate server for security reasons and 301 redirects set up to reduce any loss in traffic or ‘link juice’.
The site was migrated to UK Fast’s Magento optimised server stacks to provide optimum throughput and speed.
